Town Supervisor Dwight Krieger started off the meeting by announcing that Town Councilwoman Kelly Wahl resigned her position as of Wednesday 11/18. Krieger made a motion to accept "with regret" her resignation. It was passed four votes to none.
Krieger said he would like to get as many resume's as possible so the board could review them next Monday November 30th at 7PM.
Some residents spoke up during the open forum by saying that since there is only one month left for the current board they should wait until the new board takes over to allow them to vote for the new candidate.
Councilman Jim Collins stated that he didn't want to rush the decision and make sure that they get the most qualified candidate.
Peggy Cooke stated that Monday may be too soon to have the deadline for resumes since there is a holiday this week. If the East Aurora Advertiser puts out the request for resumes on Wednesday and Town Hall is closed on Thursday and Friday, they in effect would only have one day to turn in their resume.
EastAurora.Org has learned that former Republican Town chairman Rob Ruffner is being considered for the position.
Another resident asked who did the inspection for the Gleed Avenue building but the town board didn't know. Town Engineer Bryan Smith said that someone did an HVAC system inspection but that was it. Jeffrey Harris said that they walked around with the town engineer.
